Leader attitude
How to represent yourself as a leader?

A few months ago I got the bus in a town.

As the technologies have immersed, they have got connected to a WiFi network, where you can buy your ticket just by tapping into it. As I boarded the bus, I was trying to tap into, but nothing worked out. Passengers behind me were watching, I was embarrassed and didn't know how to access it. Meanwhile, I realized that I wrongly assumed it worked like contactless on the international buses - you just tap on, and it's good to go, no need to talk to the drivers or specify your journey, all you need to do is just tap on, sit down and get off.

Boarding into the local bus - passed 30 seconds, looking to and fro, passengers were watching me and thinking what am I trying to do? I'm wondering why isn't working? It felt like an eternity.  Only then he suggested to me, I have to intimate my destination, or inform, what kind of ticket do I need?

How did I feel?

Embarrassment and silly.

But I motivated myself thinking that none of them yelled at me, didn't waste much of my time, and a kind explanation - the first time I made a mistake and sorted it out.

My query is why on earth, none of them told me, what I was doing is absolutely wrong? Why didn't they inform, I need to tell my destination to buy my ticket?

Now, this is the fictional example, in the great scheme of things.

How many leaders or managers shy away from performing these kinds of conversations with their team members, and lacking intimacy within the team? Shying away or eliminating a basic verbal communication might mislead the individual, team, organization, and a business. A conversation helps someone to take the right decision, and putting up a right conversation clears up a misunderstanding. It's kinder, more helpful and better for all concerned to help someone what to do to improve or correct a mistake - rather than leaving them to make a mistake.

If your leaders are not having these conversations, it's their job to have them - It's what leading is all about. And if it's you that not having these type of conversations, shying away and not trying to help your colleagues or team members to do their best, then this phrase is for you.

Communicating with someone during their critical phase and solving their problem, showcases the ability of leadership. Always motivate yourself to be a leader for your businesses to flourish.
